I have no intention of becoming the Perez Hilton of fantasy football (bless you if you don’t know who that is), but I’m hearing things so I might as well share.
This isn’t new news, but Dynasty Tim aka Tim Stafford made a triumphant return to the DLF podcast a couple of weeks ago. After three articles with PFF Fantasy, he decided that it wasn’t the right fit for him. That’s one of the hardest things to do as a fantasy writer. Your dream is to get as many eyeballs on your material, but if there isn’t a fit, you have to make the right move for your own future. Tim was brought back into the DLF fold soon thereafter, most likely due to Eric Dickens playing “In Your Eyes” on a boom box outside his house.
Dish Adams of Fantasy Insights is loading up on staff like most fantasy mock drafters loading up on running backs in the early rounds. He added Micah James aka FF Magic Man last month and now Dennis Farrell of ESPN Radio Detroit and the Armed Forces Network is on the payroll. I say payroll in a general sense, because we all know the currency of fantasy football writers is beer nuts.
The biggest news I saw was Football Guys picking up GoAheadScore in free agency. Simon Shepherd and Jim Day started the site a couple of years ago but it became a solo act. Simon’s been doing excellent work with mobile fantasy apps. According to the press release, Simon will head FBG’s “Mobile Unit”. I envision him going from town to town doing Extreme Fantasy Makeovers, but instead he’ll probably just work on fantasy football apps.
