I had Wednesday and Thursday shows this week. First was the Asylum Fantasy Sports Show with the “Ricks”, Fleeger and Briggs. I showed up for the second half of the show, a rapid-fire 30 minutes in which I talked about the Titans, the rest of the AFC South, and our IC Light with Mango bet regarding the November 17th Titans/Steelers “showdown”. Didn’t know the Ricks were Steelers fans? Listen to them talk for 30 seconds.
I made the joke about Sharona and I “seeing other podcasts” as she was on the NFL Female show Wednesday. Looks like both of them are blogtalkradio shows and in my experience, had the same depressing anti-smoking ad before it started. Every hangout couple needs to blow off steam and she had a girls night, I had a guys night, and funny enough, we both talked about football in those occasions.
On our show, we discussed our most memorable blowouts, good and bad, in honor of Brazil’s World Cup semifinal beatdown by Germany. We got into the Titans’ secondary, including the debate over who’s going to take that CB2 spot that Alterraun Verner so ably handled over the past four years. I think it’s Blidi-Wreh Wilson and Sharona thinks that it will be last year’s nickel guy, Coty Sensabaugh. Bernard Pollard, oddly named “Crushboy31” on Twitter, gave the Titans much-needed veteran leadership on defense but he gets some untimely penalties that hurt the team. Michael Griffin was notable in 2013 by not being very notable after being one of the worst per-dollar safeties in 2012.
Sharona’s been working on film breakdowns of Titans’ prospects, so check out her view on Titans’ 4th-round pick Marqueston Huff, a “tweener” safety/CB prospect.
I turn into a fanboy when I get a favorite after calling Missouri starting QB Maty Mauk “baby Manziel”. I’m pretty sure that means he likes it. We conclude with some fantasy talk, including my most recent three drafts that couldn’t have more different formats.
We are trying to put together a live fantasy draft in Nashville, hopefully early August around the time of the Titans’ season-ticketholder scrimmage.
